Addressing the spectators, the performer tells them the story behind how he came into possession of the m and proceeds to allow one of the marbles to be chosen by a member of the crowd. He then instructs another to join in and tells them to decide among themselves who will hold onto t he marble, but to not tell him. He turns around, and when they are ready, he returns and after a few questions, accurately tells them who has the marble.

Phase Two: This event is repeated, but this time the performer tells the spectators not only who has the marble and what hand it is in, but does so without asking any questions whatsoever.

Comes complete with a black velvet draw-string bag, five differently colored cat’s eye marbles (plus one duplicate), a steely and instructions.

It’s that straight forward. That clean. Everything is examinable. Here’s what you get.

Imagine borrowing a coin from someone-anyone. The coin is then signed by a spectator. There’s no switches. No awkward moves. No difficult sleight to learn.

All you do is take the coin, drop it into the cellophane, and then have the spectator feel it and verify that it’s there. They can see it right there. With nothing more than flick of the wrist, it melts through the box and rattles around inside. They saw it, but now it’s inside. Crazy.

People scream. They back away from you in fear. A guy who once bullied you bows down and kisses your feet. Pretty soon you’re running a cult. Women throw themselves at you. You start wearing white suits and rake in the money. A shrine is built in your honor in 42 different countries, most of which decide to put your face on their paper currency. It’s good to be you.

And all because you performed Coin Thru Box by Jesse Feinberg. Everything you need to imitate the gods is taught to you step-by-step on this DVD.

This is what magic is supposed to look like. COIN THRU BOX.

It’s so crazy that you’re spectators will think they’re intoxicated. But DUI in this instance stands for Duo Universus Impossibilus – two impossibly combined as one. And that is exactly what happens! Imagine this..

Two spectators are given the opportunity to chose a card each, and sign them to make them unique. You take one of the cards and tear it in half long ways. Then you repeat the process with the second selection. Both cards are then torn in half. Everything is fair and out in the open.

You take the four pieces and begin to restore the card in the most unique of ways; the spectator’s cards are joined into a singular card – with BOTH signatures on it. And it is immediately handed out for inspection. No going back to the deck. No switches. The card you restore is THE card THEY keep.

This is a unique test combining the Anniversary Waltz and the Torn and Restored card plot, leaving your spectators with a fantastic souvenir. You’ll not believe how nuts this effect is, and the card you give out will act as a reminder to the spectators of the day they experience real magic.

DUI – This is what real magic is supposed to look like

Here’s the best part… it is TOTALLY readable from front to back; you’ll NEVER find the gaff. Yet, there it is, right in the text, on ever single page; powerful, simple, and immediately useable by novice and expert alike.

A spectator freely selects any page and you know the first word on the page. It’s that simple and direct. No questions asked and nothing is written down. There are no page forces and you never know the page number.

This is the perfect book test for walk around performances because there are only two steps; the spectator chooses the page and you divine the first word without hesitation. There is nothing to memorize and you don’t need any information from the spectator! There is no pumping, no forces, nothing.

A Christmas Carol is completely examinable before and after the performance and anyone can read the book from the beginning to end without ever finding the gaff. There are no duplicate prediction words and no gimmicks whatsoever; it is TOTALLY self-contained.

This is a complete mind reading effect that is ready to go with no set up and nothing to memorize right out of the package. You can repeat it as many times as you want!

Created by Josh Zandman and fleshed out and published by Black’s Magic. You will love carrying this little miracle around with you!

Pull it out of the package, take 30 seconds to skim over the instructions, and BANG.. you can perform it to anyone, anywhere, anytime. It is one of the simplest but most powerful book tests ever invented.

A conversation ensues in which you begin to explain how the classic book penned by this famous magician is purely dedicated to exposing fakes and frauds who use trickery to deceive people into believing that they have ’supernatural’ powers.

Then you say, ‘For example, take a look at this book real quickly. While you do that, I am going to write down something here on a piece of paper, fold it up, and put it in plain view for you to see.’ You then instruct them to turn freely to any page they would like, remember the page number, and then close the book and put it on the table. You take the book back and tell them to read the paper: you predicted exactly what they read!

No stooges! No confederates. Can be done impromptu. Can be done completely surrounded. No mirrors. No coins. No breaks. One of the easiest book tests you’ll ever do… and, it is the real book! The possible routines are limited only by you own imagination! You can even read Harry’s work from front to back.

Full instructions are on page 10!

More than a magazine with a HOT girl on the cover, this is an actual TRICK!
In an industry first, Street Magic Magazine has created the first ever MAGAZINE TEST (book test concept built into a magazine) that can be used by any of our readers to do mental magic or mentalism.

Built on the SM template, this issue of Street Magic Magazine features and all-star-mentalism-cast and focuses on this specific section of magic.

The magazine has been designed with TWO covers… the real one that features the sexy girl in the Santa outfit, and the fake one that features Uri Geller.

The top cover can be removed and the inside is a 2008 calendar (on one side is a SM Girl wearing SM style tank-top and panties and on the other all the months of 2008 so you can mark your schedule).

Inside this issue you’ll still find all the content that you love in SM from Magic Friday by editor-at-large Jamie D. Grant to Magician Death Match featuring Criss Angel and Uril Geller against James Randi.

This issue’s guest writer Michelangelo puts paper to pen, or, ermmm, fingers to keyboard to bang out three good contributions… one of Uri Geller, one on James Randi, and part two of his Street Lust article continued from the last issue.

De’vo vom Schattenreich brings in some friends to kill you, well, not really, with some XCM. Starting with Chappi from Italy, you’ll learn the Arc De Triumph and then Rick Smith Jr., the world record holder for throwing a playing card 216 feet-4 inches comes along to teach Fire Flicking, and a buch more.

If you like international travel, then you’ll love what Editor-in-Chief James L. Clark shares about trip to Japan with Rico de la Vega to work with Cyril Takayama.

Justin Robert Young from iTricks comes back for another round of Magic, Media, & Culture and tells us about what’s up on TV to include stuff about Derren Brown, a dude who’s making waves all over the globe with his cutting edge mentalism. A perfect topic for this particular issue of SM.

You like the High Caliber ads? Joel Broock was the first person to challenge SM with an ad that, well, pushed the limits. It was a bold move as it set the stage for SM to move in a direction that set them apart — waaaaayyyyyyy apart — from the other magic magazines. A MASSIVE amount of SM readers loved his ad and wanted more like it, so SM started the Page 69 girl. Well, Joel’s back with another hard-hitting ad that is sure to please.

Mentalist supreme Banachek, one of the coolest dudes around, hits the pages with ‘What’s My Sign’… it’s a great effect dealing with zodiac signs.

In the Street Magic Survival Guide SM teaches you how to open a combo lock using a home made shim made out of a Red Bull can… Red Bull gives you wings, and also opens Master Locks. Go figure.

Reviews…. SM has stuck a ton of great reviews in this issue too. If you want to know what’s the latest and greatest, then check out that section.

SM has also added a ton of mentalism and mental magic effects in this issue including a COMPLETE routine provided by Mark Edward, how to do the center tear, a peek by Richard Busch, how to cold read, and much, much, more.

Street Magic is a cross between magazines like Maxim, FHM, GQ, and Thrasher with a magic flavor that makes us stand WAY out from the crowd. We are fresh, up-to-date, and from the streets.

We don’t BS, we don’t play politics, and we are in your face with hard-hitting articles, features, reviews, and in-depth interviews with the hottest magicians around. If some piece in our magazine doesn’t get you pissed off or thinking, then we’ve not done our job.

We are here to provoke intelligent thought, logical discourse, and to positively influence magicians of all levels into thinking outside the proverbial ‘magic’ box, and start pushing our art to the next level.

SM is a magazine for the thinking magician-for artists who don’t want to fall in line and be like everyone else, but want to stand out from the crowd and be proud of who they are, where they are going, what they accomplish, and the legacy they leave behind. SM is about you and we prove that by featuring magicians of all levels. You don’t have to have been dead for 70 years to get the cover.

We are about the rising leaders in magic-the ones who entertain on the street, stage, and screen today, in the near future, and in the days to come. And we are for all the magic shops-the places that got us into magic in the first place. We are not about ad space; we are about content and producing a magazine that increases the public’s interest in our art.

But most of all, we are totally unpredictable. Period. You’ll never know what’s going to happen next in SM-and that’s what makes us really stand out.

Feature: Morgan Streble

So you think that since you know how to bend a fork that you’re ready to take on the world? Get in line, I’m afraid. There’s someone in front who’s already on the verge. After some rough times and some incredible times, Morgan is now ready to take what’s his and has the chops, talent, look, and dedication to make it all happen. Our Publisher and Chief Of Staff, James L. Clark, takes another cover story and brings it to life with this fascinating talk with Mr. Strebler. What you read inside will give you new found appreciation of ‘what it takes’ to make in the world of magic.

Stepping Up to the Plate!

Jamie D. Grant is the man. No seriously, he is the man for this issue of Street Magic Magazine. Jamie became the de facto editor as he is next in line to take control.

So, when James left for a business trip out to meet with Cyril, Jamie stepped up to the plate and gave the rest of the crew the necessary leadership required to make this current issue a reality.

From managing the writers and contributors to assuring all of the necessary content made it in time for layout-Jamie really took the bull by the horns and made it happen. Without his direction, it wouldn’t have happened.

We’re tremendously happy with the way this issue has turned out, so make sure you say hi to Jamie and give him a well-deserved ataboy when you get a chance. He deserves the credit, but if you have any complaints… you can still fire those off to James to handle… that’s always entertaining for the rest of us here at SM!

Magic Friday

Well, we might as well just roll right into Magic Friday then since we were just stroking Jamie’s genius (I’m trying to get promoted here myself), and this rendition of his unique way of reviewing effects.

For those of you who are fans of Jamie D. Grant’s fantastic Magic Fridays, then you are not going to be disappointed by the content this time around.

In typical fashion, our Content Editor Editor kicks it into high gear with some real world reviews on three great products:
Change Cap by Creative Magic Shoe Pouch by Eric Evans Sudden Deck II by David Regal And as we said in the last issue, watch out… Jamie’s reviews have been known to sell at least three items for every 25,000+ people who read them!

The LA 411

We’re totally excited to have some new contributors this issue and are very happy to welcome them all to the Street Magic Team!

In L.A. Ramblings Gerry Katzman gives you a look from the inside-out with his views from the goings on the City of Angels. From the latest at the Castle to hanging out with the stars (check out the pic of Jennifer Love Hewitt) Gerry is sure to catch your eyes and ears with his unique take on life in the big city.

Eric Evans gives us the word…

This has to be one of the highest anticipated columns we’ve come across.

After people realized that ‘Street Magic’ didn’t mean kidz with kardz, they began asking when we were going to get an article written by a professional busker.

And when word began to spread that Eric Evans was on board to write, the calls started coming in. When this man speaks, the true workers listen.

Eric has performed all over the world and we can’t wait for you to listen to the wisdom that he’s going to share with you.

More Reviews and Tricks

After a costly study, we found that the first thing magicians turned to was the review section and then the trick section of Street Magic Magazine. Bound and determined to make this magazine a publication for the real magicians out there (i.e. people who actually perform magic for people as opposed to guys who just quote’n'post~ if you don’t know what quote’n'posting is then you better pick this issue up) we’ve put in more reviews for tricks that you’ll actually use and some reviews to prevent you from buying absolute crap. Combine that with some effects from the likes of Bill Abbott and Todd Robbins and you’ve got a couple amazing days of reading and learning ahead of you.

The Blow Off

After receiving an e-mail about us not giving enough attention to the history of magic, we promptly got in touch with Jeremy Weiss to teach us how it all began.

Jeremy takes us on a trip down memory lane with an educating tale of how it all really went down. And it’s not how you think. Jeremy brings us back to a time where magic meant something more than just trying to make a buck. Namely making two bucks.

Read more to find out how they did it…

Pickpocketing

Do you know who James Harrison is yet?

Well you should. After all he knows all about you- including your Drivers Licence number, your Amex number, and the telephone number for that waitress you just met.

And for his third edition of his popular series, he’s going to let you in on more of his thoughts about how to get into people’s hearts and minds, along with their pockets.

It’s not an easy thing what he does but James gives you some professional insight on what it takes to reach down deep.

Plus so much more!

Street Magic is a cross between magazines like Maxim, FHM, GQ, and Thrasher with a magic flavor that makes us stand WAY out from the crowd. We are fresh, up-to-date, and from the streets.

INKED–a spectator’s chosen card shows up as tattoo in the most unusual of places.

From the creator of HOLY GRAIL, one of the greatest visual advancements to the torn and restored card plot, JORDAN JOHNSON brings you a tattoo reveal like no other on the market.

A deck of cards enters play. A spectator picks a card and checks it. The magician rubs the card against his cheek and one of the pips vanishes, only to end up on the inside of this mouth tattooed into his flesh. Everyone can see it. It’s right there. There’s stunned silence.

Striking and bold, this is the kind of in-your-face magic people never forget.

Then the magician forcefully blows onto the face of the card and the pip instantly reappears. They break into applause. But there’s more. The pip is now gone from his cheek.

This is REAL magic. INKED.

Running Time Approximately 50min
